Kid Funnies

Ben: "Do you know maple syrup comes from sap in a tree?"

Lily: "I know that, Papa told me."

Cora: "Actually, I learned that from Curious George."

**************

Hattie: "Mama! I forgot to do my avotions!!"

Translation: avotions=devotions

*****************

Hattie (age 3): "He is risen!"

Mom: "He is risen indeed!!"

Hattie: "That's so important, I have to remember that in my brain!"

Mom: "He is risen!"

Hattie: "He is risen in oven!"

Ummmmm....so close!

*********************

Hattie: "Mom, how do you say yes in Spanish?"

Mom: "Si"

Hattie: "How do you say one in English?"

Ummmmm....One.

Kid Funnies

Hattie: "Look mom...I'm a magyptian."

Translation: An Egyptian.

**Don't mind the undies, that's her go-to outfit these days. I'm lucky I got her to wear a shirt.

***************

As Hattie and I were shopping for groceries the other day, we passed through the produce section. She immediately saw something she wanted:
Hattie: "Mom! Can we get seaweed?!? Please!!!"
I was so confused. Although I know she does like seaweed, we were in the middle of all the fresh fruits and vegetables.
Me: "Seaweed? I don't see any."
Hattie: "It's right there!"
Me: "Ooohhh, you mean kiwi?"
Hattie: "Yes"

*******************

Hattie: "Mom....how do you make 'awesome sauce'?"

For example: We are having dessert tonight and everyone replies "Awesome Sauce!"

******************

As I'm laying in bed with Hattie:

"Mama, I'm so disausted...are you disausted? Cause I sure am disausted. I just want to go to sleep.

Translation: Disausted=exhausted...and she was very proud of the new word she had
added to her vocabulary.

Kid Funnies

Kid Funnies brought to you by Grammie:

*****

When discussing upcoming birthdays in our family, Hattie realized her birthday had already passed. So she declared matter-of-factly that her birthday was "last night ago".

*****

While driving home from the school, Cora exclaimed that she had made a paper game during free choice time. Grammie asked a couple questions about it to which Cora gave a couple of short answers and then there was silence. Grammie broke the silence with another question to which Cora queried "Do you want me to explain it or do you want to just let it be?"

*****

Lily looked lovingly at Grammie and said "I could stay at your house and have quiet time all day!" Thinking that sounded like a great way to babysit, Grammie brightened and told her that she is welcome to do that anytime she wants to. ;)

*****

After spending part of a day at Grammies, Mommy said it was time to go home for quiet time. Cora asked if she could stay at Grammie's for quiet time, to which mom said that she had to get permission from Grammie for that. So Cora promptly asked if she could stay and Grammie replied with " I suppose so". Cora looked a little concerned so she asked "is that a definite yes, or a definite no?"

*****

Hattie was exploring Grammie's bathroom and opened one of the vanity doors. She looked inside and exclaimed "we have garbage too!" Then wrinkling up her nose she asked in a very questioning tone "we don't play with garbage??" Grammie said "no, garbage is kind of dirty." She then exclaimed that her garbage is not dirty at her house.

Kid Funnies

There is never a shortage of funny quotes from the peanut gallery around here....

*****

Hattie: Does Lily only get medicine?

Mom: Yes, Lily is the only one sick, so she's the only one who gets medicine. She has an infection.

Hattie: I want a inflection! (infection)

*****

Dad: What time was mom born? (meaning what time of day)

Lily: A LONG time ago! That's true, right?!?

*****

I was quizzing Cora on her Spanish colors and she answered so many of them correct.

Mom: How do you say blue in Spanish?

Cora: Azul

Mom: How do you say red in Spanish?

Cora: rojo

Mom: How do you say yellow in Spanish?

Cora sat there deep in thought, trying to remember, she spoke up finally and said: awkward?
(it's amarillo, but close honey)

*****

Lily: (pointed to her foot and asked): Are these knuckle buns?

Mom: No, they are your ankle bones. :)

Kid Funnies

Just a few quotes to tickle your funny bone for the day...

Jason had all the kids upstairs in our bedroom wrapping my presents for Christmas. Hattie was holding the tape while Ben was doing some wrapping. As it came time to seal the package shut, he went over to Hattie and took the tape out of her hands. She immediately marched over to Jason to tattle on what crime had just been committed. In a loud, angry voice she said:
"Ben....tape....mad!"

*****

Cora: Mom, I like sharing a room with Lily better than with Ben. She doesn't
make me mad like he does.

*****

Lily: Mom!! I have to wrap my present for Ella!!
Mom: Yes...but we have to buy it first.

*****

For breakfast this morning, we had cinnamon rolls. Each child was given one on their plate. Ben took his fork and scraped off all the frosting, enjoying the sugary sweetness. Once he realized it was all gone and he still had his entire cinnamon roll still sitting on his plate, he turned to Cora and said:
Can I borrow some of your frosting?

...She said no. ;)

Out of the Mouths of Babes

I'm sure there's musings that happen around here, but I only remembered to jot down two of them so that's all there is for today. :)

***
Cora: When I get to heaven, can I give Jesus a hug?
Mom: Absolutely!!
Cora: Do you think He would like that?
Mom: I'm positive He would love that.

***
Jason: Ben, where are you gonna live when you get bigger?
Ben: Hmmm...Right here. (pointing to the other side of the pond)
Mom: Good, nice and close. Then you can come over and mow my lawn.
Ben: No, then you can come over and mow my lawn!
