Hangin' Out With Friends

Owen and Ella

Greta and Ben with the purifier...see Ben's hair flying around?

Our good friends Tricia, Owen, and Greta came over today. We always have such a nice time with them. Ella is so funny because she is usually so quiet. It takes her awhile to warm up when we go somewhere or talk to someone. But when her friend Owen comes over...usual ol' Ella is out the window. She loves playing with him, she gets loud, runs all over the house, and will even occasionally tackle and wrestle her friend. I know...she surprises me too!

Ben plays well with Greta and the two babies follow their other older siblings all over the house. Today's amazing toy: the purifier. Ben and Greta turned that thing on and off at least a half a million times. Who needs trucks and dolls? Any old purifier will do.

Lovin' Life

Life is great these days. I'm just loving having my daddy back home! He was in India for what felt like a lifetime...at least that's what I kept hearing my Mom say. I'm pretty sure that it was really only 10 days though. I think I might have seen her almost have a nervous breakdown one day...I can really be a handful when I want to. I'm a boy...what doesn't she understand about that?!? I mean...sure...I cried when my sister pushed me over and I bit my lip and was bleeding all over. That doesn't mean Mom has to get all dramatic and call Grandma to see if I need to go to the doctor. I'm tough...give me a minute and I recover pretty quick. (Note to self: Watch out for Ella when you start playing with her kitchen...she can get a little bossy, mad and then downright pushy.)

And the measles that I got from my shots weren't even my fault! Heck, I felt even worse than Mom did. She complained about her arms aching from holding me all day...oh please...I had BUMPS from head to toe. Now that's something to cry about, right?!? And, yes, I know I gagged myself a few times while in Target on a "shopping excurtion"...but Mom wasn't paying attention and doing what I wanted her to do. She left me no choice but to throw up twice in the store! What's a boy to do when his mom won't follow instructions? I guess she said we left there with absolutely no "dignity" left...what does that even mean?!?

But now that Dad is back home, life is finally clicking along like normal. We spent the weekend outside playing a lot and we even got to go to a few gatherings today. I love spending time with my family...and the cat too. I think he makes a great buddy to cuddle up with. I think he likes me a lot too since I can pull his tail or sit on him and he just keeps purring. Wait until Uncle Todd teaches me how to cut his whiskers off...now that's a day I'm looking forward to!

Baby James Update

Much disappointment today as they found out that James' tumors are not responding to the new chemo that he has been receiving. His prognosis is very, very poor. Jen and Kelly are having to weigh a lot of different things right now...more drugs versus quality of life, etc. Decisions that I can't even imagine having to make. My heart is heavy, sad, and sickened. I wish I could write more, but you will need to go to his blog to get all the info as I just can't bear to think about this right now. Click on BABY JAMES to get there.

Where Has The Time Gone??

Wow! Has it really been a whole week since I posted last? I just can't believe it. Not that my week has gone quickly, but I have been busy, busy, busy.

The garden is all planted, the patio flowers have all been watered and arranged, the pool is crystal clear and vacuumed, and the kids are all sweetly tucked into bed. I feel like super-mom...hmmm..no, I'm too tired to feel that way. Maybe a good night's sleep for me and I'll feel like I can conquer the world tomorrow.

Check back soon as I will post some pics. Since both kids are sleeping, I MUST go to bed myself. NOW.

Good night.

Guess Who Took His First Steps?

ME! I have been so busy learning how to walk and ,wow, I want to do it more than anything! Mom says practice makes perfect so I've been practicing, practicing, practicing. I do it night and day. Mom can't figure out why I don't want to take naps or go to bed at night...c'mon silly, it's because I have better things to do with my time than sleep. (Personally, I think sleep is over-rated. I wish I could get Mom to understand this.) Sometimes I just can't keep my eyes open any longer...but I make sure to only doze for short periods of time. That gives me just enough sleep for a second wind and I can go like the Energizer Bunny. I can really cruise along furniture now and I've even dared to take a few steps by myself to get from one piece to the next without grabbing on to anything. "Look Ma...no hands!" Anyway...not to brag or anything, but I took about 13 steps tonight while my Mom held her arms out cheering me on. Wowza! I think it's pretty exciting to get somewhere walking upright...but you should see how wild my parents get. They hoop and hollar like I just gave them a million bucks. I like to do it over and over again just to see the reactions on their faces. Well...I better get back to making my Mom crazy...now that I can walk a little I can get into even more! Watch out world...here I come!

It's Gone?!? What?!?

How much does Ben like Mom's fruit smoothies? This is what happens when he gets to the bottom of the glass and it's all gone. I think he's a fan of these things!

Well....It's Official...

I think I am turning into my mom. I guess we look enough alike, use a lot of the same mannerizims, and sound just like each other on the phone that I figured there was no holding back any longer...

I officially get my garden up and running today.
Yes...I said garden.
Yes...I know it has dirt in it.
Yes...I know the dirt will inevitably get under my fingernails.
Yes...I know that I will have to actually eat the veggies that grow there.
Yes...I know that there will be spiders and other creepy things crawling around.
I know, I know, I know.

And with all of those things...I'm still excited to start growing my own things and feeding my family healthy, organic items. YES...I know I said "organic". Don't get me started on that one.

The greenhouse truck should be here soon with all of my fresh, black, beautiful dirt. Mom comes down next week and she is bringing with her all the plants that she so lovingly started months ago in her greenhouse. It will be nice to spend some time with her in my garden planting all those little plants that have so much potential. Ella is going to have so much fun this summer helping in the garden...and enjoying the fruits of our labor.

Did I mention that my compost bin comes in next week...

Bubbles, bubbles, and more bubbles

Ben and Ella both just love bubbles. Ella has her "bubble pig" and Ben has his "Bubblesaurus". They are little toys with batteries that continually blow gazillions of bubbles. Ella has learned the art of blowing them right in Ben's face and he thinks it's the greatest thing ever. Sometimes Ella will get a little too close and they will all pop in his hair. I'll look at his face and he will have

little soap drops all over his head. The kids will love when the weather turns warm and we can take them to the park for bubble time. Tomorrow is supposed to be 79 degrees so we may just get our chance real soon.

Happy Birthday to ME!!

Candy tower that Daddy made

Me waiting for my bulgogi

Cake...Yummmmm

All gone...can I have some more?

It was my birthday today! I am officially one and I'm pretty sure I'm the coolest kid on the block. Mom invited some of my friends over and we had a birthday picnic lunch at the park. It was so much fun and I even got to eat as much macaroni and cheese and I wanted...and trust me, that's a lot.

I had my birthday party this past weekend. Wow, was it a blast! All my friends came to the MG Maze and played with me. We had so much fun. My sister Ella even climbed all the way to the top with Daddy and came shooting out the big slide. I had my fair share of trying to eat the balls out of the ball pit...good thing they make those things so big!

We feasted on all sorts of good food with everyone. Mommy made bbq's which were just okay...what I really liked was the bulgogi and rice! Yum...that stuff is out of this world. I just can't seem to get enough of it. When I was all done eating, I flung the rice as far as I could across the table. Now that I'm one...it's quite a ways! When everyone was done raving about the bulgogi, Nana got the birthday cake out that she made for me. Didn't she do an awesome job? I think the Hangul is really cool. Mommy gave me my very own piece...she was wondering if I was going to like it. Wowza...cake is good. I squished it between my fingers until it was mashed just perfectly and then I chowed down. I tried to get every last crumb I could get my hands on. I can't wait until my next birthday party.

I got so many nice gifts and spending time with all my friends and family was wonderful. I slept like a champ that night from all the excitement. Now that I'm one today, I decided to give my mom a run for her money and make her walk me for 20 minutes before settling down and going to sleep. I figured I should make my birthday last all day long!

Thanks for those of you who came to my party...I love you all.
