A Not-So-Succesful Photo Shoot

I try...I really do...

My subject matter is certainly cute enough...

So we know where the problem lies...

It's me...

I hoot, I holler, I jump up and down and look like an idiot...all just to get her attention...

But to no avail...

I'll tell ya one thing...

I have a new-found respect for people who do this for a living...

In my opinion...

They are worth their weight in gold.

Uff-da....I give up. :)

Wednesday's Ramblings

We have been making great strides this week with Cora. The way it sent my heart soaring when she snuggled with me this week is indescribable. I think my heart grew 10 times it's normal size.

Never forget or under-estimate, regardless of how old you are, how your mother's support can pull you through just about anything. I guess I'll always need my mama.

Just when you think you are oh-so-sneaky and have gotten away with shoving a giant piece of cake in your mouth unnoticed...your 2 year old will come out of nowhere  and ask "Mama...what are you eating??"

The Cars 2 movie comes out in 2 days...just in case anyone lost count. And not that anyone in my family has been counting down for the past 30+ days.

I got my first kiss from Cora yesterday. Slobbery and sloppy...but so precious.

I love it when Lily says "Me go, Mama? Me go himmin' hessons?"
(Translation: swimming lessons)

Ella informed me that she no longer likes noodles and she only wants to eat vegetables and fruits. I didn't realize that 6 year olds had such strong opinions...and where did she get such a love for veggies from?!?

Happiness is when your husband comes home 2 days early from a work trip...just in time for
Father's Day.

Thank You...

This post is incredibly long over-due.

While we were in Korea to pick up Cora, we met with Mrs. Nam and her lovely daughter, So Hyun. They are very special to us as they are Lily's fostermom and fostersister.

It's crazy to think that you can care so much about a family that you have only met a handful of times and who lives on the other side of the world. They mean so much to me...and Jason and I were honored to be able to see them again when we traveled recently.

Ms. Nam gave me, or should I say made me, the most beautiful present.

I am always so taken when someone makes me a handmade present. To know that someone took their own time to make something just for me...well that just speaks volumes to my heart.

I know you are not going to believe me when I tell you it's all handmade...

These soaps are incredibly gorgeous, detailed, and have the most lovely scent.

They took my breath away.

If I was a better photographer, maybe I could do them justice.

Seriously...handmade...she is very talented.

And this sheep? Maybe it's the knitter in me...but I just love him.

Love. Him.

I was so impressed by her generosity and I love these soaps because they remind me of what a special family they are.

Thank You, Mrs. Nam...for your beautiful spirit. You truly are one in a million. We miss you and your family so much.

Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes aren't the only things sweet around this house...
Cora...she's pretty sweet too.

I'm one smitten-kitten when it comes to this little love.

Everything she is and everything she does.

Even when it involves sweet potatoes everywhere. To tell you she loves this food is an under-statement.

I guess that's the sign of true love...when you can laugh yourself silly over ears with sweet potatoes in them and still think it's the cutest thing ya ever did see.

I mean really....can ya blame me?!?

And another one...just cause.

Hello Kitty

Still trying to get Seoul pics posted. I can't tell you how busy I am these days...but suffice it to say...I barely have time for anything extra.

On Wednesday, April 20, while in Seoul, we stopped at Lotte World at looked around. The place is so huge and there are so many shops.

One shop in particular stopped me in my tracks. Made me think of home and a certain little brown-eyed beauty who's life revolves around a certain pink cat. Lily is all about Hello Kitty .

Can't you just hear the squeals of joy...

If You Ever Doubt God Has A Sense of Humor...

I was having a particularily hard morning. Nothing was going the way I planned.

I only had two things on my to-do list:

1) Get  changed out of my jammies.

2) Do one load of laundry.

As you can see, I don't set the bar real high these days. I know my limitations and I know that with four little ones...well, I'm unable to get things done like I used to.

Well, by 11:45 this morning I had accomplished... Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. The Big Zero.

So I offered up a quick prayer and it went something like this:

Dear God...
I just want to get out of my jammies today...is that so much to ask? Is it really?!?
I can't believe that I can't even get that done!!
I just want to accomplish at least one thing on my list and this doesn't seem like it should be this hard!

Mere moments later I changed Cora's diaper. And that's when God answered my prayer. Plain as day.

...Cora peed on me. In fact, all over me. Drenched my jammie shirt and my jammie shorts. Hmmm....guess I had no choice but to get changed out of my jammies at that very moment. No excuses. Nothing that was a higher priority.

Moral of the story: be careful what you ask for...you may just find yourself being peed on by a baby.

Another Conversation...

Ben: You're 36, right Mom? Not 63.

Mom: Yes, Ben. I'm only 36...not 63.

Ben: 'Cause 63 is really old.

Seriously.
